As we enter Stephens Passage there is a huge expanse of open water with Frederick Sound, Chatham Strait and Keku Strait all converging. We see Admiralty Island ahead and Baranof Island to Port in the far distance. There are bright blue openings and shafts of light in the sky. We pass "Five Fingers Lighthouse" at this intersection with its five islets surrounding it.

We see long cylindrical puffs of mist and then the huge black glistening body of a Humpback Whale appears thrusting his dripping fluke out of the water as if to wave before he takes a deep dive. We observed between 20 to 30 whales in this area.

We put our hook down in an anchorage with no name.

Daniel and Melanie put on their heavy weather gear and take Wings around the bend to get a peak at the mysteries of Tracy Arm we will encounter in the morning making sure it is clear of icebergs for Seventh Heaven to navigate the 22 miles into the glacier head

Amazingly in our travels so far we have only encountered 2 small boats. As Wings headed for the bend to look up the channel a cruise ship appeared much to the surprise of Daniel and Melanie and the captain of the cruise ship,   People lined the decks still mesmerized by the beauty of the glacier snapped pictures of Daniel and Melanie in Wings. Seventh Heaven was not yet visible to them. What could they have been thinking about this tiny little boat in the middle of the desolate wilderness?
