June 4, 2013 - Coghland Anchorage via Grenville Channel to Prince Rupert - 76 Nautical Miles

We pull anchor at 6 am to catch the tide up Grenville Channel to Prince Rupert.  We pass spectacular scenery along the way. One glaciated valley had 3 Half Domes side by side like the one in Yosemite. We ride the current all the way to Prince Rupert.

Snow covered monoliths rise, their faces scared by glaciation. The never ending erosion of melting snow deepens the gashes that widen into canyons.

We near the end of Grenville Channel and will enter Chatham Sound then onto Prince Rupert.

We see the colorful buildings of "Cow Bay"and call the Prince Rupert Yacht Club for moorage.  There are not many slips for pleasure boats.  There is one other Harbor but it is a mile out of town and very inconvenient.

We have success and find a slip.

The good news is we found a slip at the very busy yacht club.
The bad news is that it is next to a metal building that will interfere with the Internet signal.

Someone got very creative with an old orange fender.

"WELCOME TO COW BAY"

Lou and I immediately get into a "Cow Bay Kinda Mood"!

And what is better than a "Cowpuccino"?

Dolly's Fresh Fish was recommended for her fresh, fresh fish.  And that it was! The little restaurant was very modest but the food was wonderful!

Click on her extensive menu and see the variety of Fresh seafood that is available.
We enjoyed our stay in Prince Rupert.  We rested, provisioned, showers, good food, a visit to the Casino and won $200 .  The day after we arrived the weather was sunny and warm.
