Aug. 1st - The Pacific White Sided Dolphins of Wells Passage

We encountered a pod of Pacific White Sided Dolphins as we cruised along Wells Passage in The Broughton Archipelago. They love to play in the wake of the bow.
Their speed is lightening fast and they have been clocked at 25 miles per our. The max hull speed of Seventh Heaven is 8 knots.
They love to swim upside down and it doesn't slow them down a bit!
I love to see them jump out of the water!
This appeared to be a family teaching their little one to swim fast!
They love to frolic and play.
Sometimes they surface just enough for their "blow holes" to take a breath.
Their speed is remarkable they can keep up with the boat with ease. As I hung over the bow professing my love for them, one rolled to the side and we had "eye to eye contact"!

Just as they appeared out of nowhere they disappeared into labyrinth of water ways playing and of course eating the many schools of small Herring and Squid.
