ONE OF THE MANY INTERESTING PEOPLE WE MEET ALONG THE WAY.
"Seeker of Truth" is a 1913 Norwegian motor-sailor. Found on the hard behind a barn she had to have several planks replaced because of drying out. She has been beautifully restored by her owner Thomas Taylor. The boat is moored in Telegraph Harbor.
Thomas is also a poet and gave us a signed copy of his book: "Poems to Warm a Sailor's Heart". He displays a tatoo on his chest of his boat. He is a true mariner!
OUR 2007 CRUISING SEASON BEGINS AT THE CATALINA RENDEZVOUS
Our cruising season begins at the Catalina Rendezvous held on Thetis Island. We enjoyed a wonderful time playing games, sharing food and friendship. Our hosts from Westerly Yachts in Vancouver provided beautiful gifts and prizes. We look forward
to this event each year.
Friends gather in the cockpit of Seventh Heaven to share sailing stories.
Here are 2 Saltspring lambs roasting on the spit. There is a choice of Fresh Wild Salmon or Roast Lamb for dinner.
Dinner is DELICIOUS!
Even the K-9's had a great time. Notice the designer collars each on received.
One of the competitions is the "Concours d'Elegance. This means a couple of judges come aboard and who ever can bribe them the best wins the prize for the spiffyest boat. We served them as they boarded Baileys Lattes made on our on board La Pavoni
Espresso Machine. Could that have infulenced them? Ya think? WE WON!
We were presented with a beautiful handmade rug with the insignia of Calalina and the Maple Leaf of Canada.
Thank you for a wonderful time and the great prizes and gifts.
